Milestone spotlights how entrepreneurs can identify, protect, and leverage the hidden intellectual property behind their businesses

NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Optimal Tax Asset Management rang the Opening Bell® at the New York Stock Exchange on Aug. 26 to celebrate the launch of the Optimal Tax Managed Equity ETF.

Austin S. Collins, CEO and chief investment officer of Optimal Tax Asset Management and portfolio manager of OTAX, was joined on the NYSE floor by Kary Oberbrunner, founder and CEO of Instant IP®, a patented, blockchain-powered platform that helps creators and entrepreneurs establish evidence of their original ideas.

Collins is also the founding principal of Integrated Wealth Advisors and an Instant IP® Advisor.

While the bell marked the public launch of a new exchange-traded fund, the larger story began when Collins recognized the valuable intellectual property hidden inside his years of expertise.

"Many entrepreneurs are surrounded by 'hidden Rembrandts,' valuable ideas they have created but never named, protected or leveraged," Oberbrunner said. "Austin did more than launch a fund. He identified the proprietary thinking behind his work, protected that intellectual property and positioned it to create value on a much larger stage."

The actively managed OTAX ETF seeks long-term capital appreciation using a proprietary model developed by Optimal Tax Asset Management. The model evaluates U.S.-listed companies across large-, mid- and small-capitalization categories.

"The ETF is the vehicle, but the real differentiation comes from the thinking behind it," Collins said. "Instant IP® helped me recognize that the models, frameworks and processes I had developed were valuable business assets. Protecting those ideas gave me greater confidence to bring them into the marketplace."

Instant IP® enables users to create time-stamped, independently verifiable evidence connected to their ideas, frameworks, creative works, and other intellectual property. The platform provides an accessible first layer of protection while helping entrepreneurs build organized portfolios of their intellectual assets.

Oberbrunner is the co-author of You Are an IP Company with Katherine Rubino, an intellectual property attorney and partner at Wiggin and Dana LLP. The book teaches founders how to discover the overlooked intellectual property already at work within their businesses.

"Austin's experience demonstrates our core process: Publish, Protect, Promote, Profit," Oberbrunner added. "When entrepreneurs learn to see their ideas as assets, they can protect them and strategically leverage them to create greater impact."
