October 22, 2026 - Birmingham, Alabama - Daxko, a software provider serving the health, fitness, and wellness industry, has announced plans to establish its headquarters in downtown Birmingham, reinforcing the city's role as the company's global base of operations.
The new headquarters, located at 1728 Third Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama, 35203, will serve as the central hub for Daxko's 850+ global employees, including more than 130 currently based in the Birmingham area.
As Daxko continues to grow its SaaS platform across multiple segments of the health, fitness, and wellness market, the downtown location is intended to provide a central space for employees to collaborate, offer customers a dedicated venue to explore product solutions, and reconnect the company to its origins as one of the earliest SaaS businesses to emerge from the American South.
"Daxko was among the first technology companies to call Birmingham home, helping put the city on the map as a place where software companies could start and scale," said Jeff VanDixhorn, CEO, Daxko. "As the industry evolved, our focus stayed close to home, building technology trusted by nonprofit organizations that anchor communities and the gyms and studios that keep them moving, now powering 19,000 locations and 25 million members in 55 countries."
The downtown move represents a new chapter in the company's history in Birmingham, positioning Daxko as an active participant in the city's growing technology community.
An investment in Birmingham's future
All 130+ Birmingham-based positions will relocate to the new downtown office when it opens in April 2027. Daxko projects its Birmingham-based team will grow to more than 200 employees over the following three years.
"Daxko's products touch nearly every corner of health and wellness," said Mayor Randall Woodfin, City of Birmingham. "If you've enjoyed a CrossFit workout, visited a yoga studio, or attended a class at your local YMCA, chances are you've used their technology. Having a global company of this caliber choose downtown Birmingham as its headquarters is a tremendous vote of confidence in our city, and it's proof that Birmingham is where world-class businesses come to grow."
"Daxko's move underscores the vital role connectivity and a vibrant urban core play in corporate relocation," said David Fleming, President and CEO of REV Birmingham. "By locating its headquarters alongside the existing innovation ecosystem in The Switch district, Daxko is strengthening downtown's appeal, helping drive continued growth, and benefiting from a location with high visibility and walkability."
REV Birmingham is a place-based revitalization and economic development nonprofit that supported site selection for Daxko's new downtown headquarters.
Why Birmingham makes sense for Daxko
Founded in 1998, Daxko is among Alabama's earliest technology companies, having demonstrated the region's capacity to support fast-growing SaaS businesses since the late 1990s. After outgrowing its previous office space in Homewood, Alabama, the company identified downtown Birmingham as the location best suited to support its next phase of growth.
The relocation follows a period of significant expansion, including Daxko's 2025 declaration as an AI-first business and two 2026 acquisitions: Mumbai-based FitnessForce, a membership management platform built for multi-location, franchise, and international fitness operators, and Alaris, a childcare management software provider. As the company continues to expand, certain roles will be available only to Birmingham-based candidates, while other roles will give preference to Birmingham-based candidates.
Building for Daxko's people
Birmingham-based employees will work a hybrid schedule of two to three days per week at the new office. The facility will include an onsite fitness studio, updated office space, and an attached secure parking garage.
"This move is, in many ways, a homecoming," said Concetta Lewis, SVP, People, Daxko. "Daxko helped establish Birmingham's earliest tech roots. Today, as the city's downtown has become a hub for innovation and talent, we're returning to be part of that energy. We're excited to invest in the same community that gave us our start and help build the city's reputation as a tech talent hub."
Daxko's remote and international employees will also have the opportunity to visit Birmingham for company-wide and team-specific meetings at the new headquarters.
Recommitting to Birmingham's tech ecosystem
Daxko founder Tom Patterson and former CEO Dave Gray built the foundation on which the company's current position in the fitness software industry rests. Alumni of the company have gone on to found other notable ventures, including Fleetio, Airship, Partner Fleet, Grades First, Boulo Solutions, and Compose, among others.
As part of its commitment to the local technology community, Daxko plans to open the new headquarters for community events and position the space as a resource for Birmingham. The company will announce partnerships and events tied to its grand opening in the months ahead.
Welcoming Daxko customers to the heart of Birmingham
The Birmingham headquarters will serve as a venue for customer roundtables, prospect visits, customer conferences, and meetings for Daxko's Customer Advisory Boards, giving customers direct access to the company's latest product developments.
"Long before Birmingham's tech scene had a name for itself, Daxko was already writing the code," said Matt Popinski, Chief Customer and Payments Officer, Daxko. "Now, as the city's innovation district comes into its own, we're bringing our headquarters back to the center of it."
