MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Choate's Air Conditioning, Heating, Plumbing, and Electrical secured the 2026 Best of Memphis Award for Best HVAC Co., marking the company's fourth victory in this category over the last five years. The annual recognition, determined by the readers of the Memphis Flyer, highlights the service provider's sustained influence within the Mid-South market.

The win follows a period of consistent performance, where the company maintained a top-tier ranking for five consecutive years starting in 2022, including a second-place finish in 2025. Unlike industry certifications determined by internal metrics, the Memphis Flyer award reflects the direct preferences of the local community through a majority vote. The results indicate a high level of retention among multi-generational customer bases, a factor the company attributes to its legacy of technical reliability and community involvement.

Operational Growth and Legacy

The transition from a solo operation to a large-scale enterprise began in 1958 when Joe Choate launched the business with a single pick-up truck and a tool chest. The organization has since expanded into a regional leader under the leadership of Joe's son, Chris, and grandsons, Sol and Brian.

The enterprise now maintains a robust infrastructure to support its growing client base:

• 100 Field Vehicles: A large-scale fleet designed to provide comprehensive coverage and rapid response across the region.
• 140 Employees: A dedicated workforce that manages daily operations and specialized field services.

This recognition serves as a benchmark for integrity in an increasingly competitive market. By securing the majority vote, Choate's reinforces its standing as a primary choice for HVAC solutions in the Memphis metropolitan area, bridging the gap between mid-century service values and modern technical requirements.
